CleanMetrics has developed a
significant amount of technology that is now
available for licensing or purchase by companies offering software and services
for life cycle assessment (LCA) and resource efficiency. CleanMetrics will no
longer offer these software tools and services to end users directly.
The most significant part of the CleanMetrics
technology is the food LCA software (FoodCarbonScope),
including the largest set of commercially available
LCI data for North
American food production and processing. This software and database have been
used in several major food LCA studies recently:

Life-cycle GHG emissions comparison of organic & conventional crops
· Climate change and economic impacts of US national food waste
· EWG’s Meat Eater’s Guide
The technology suite also includes a general purpose
LCA tool (CarbonScope),
a building LCA tool (BuildingScope),
and a resource flow analysis tool (MetaFlowScope).

All of the software is web-based and written in C# for ASP.NET. The database
format is currently Access (easily changeable to SQL).
These software and database components can
be licensed non-exclusively or purchased with exclusive rights. In both cases,
the transaction will include source code for the software, plus rights to
use the technology as is, build derivative products and sub-license to others in
any form. Individual components can also be licensed separately (examples: any
of the LCA tools along with the LCI database; only the LCI data for
food/agriculture; etc.). All technology components will be delivered "as is",
with appropriate warranties. The cost and other terms are negotiable.
